Industry News| Amber Jones, FoodForce, Dec 29, 2016

2016 gave us plant-based dairy substitutes, gluten-free cookie dough, and the Whole 30 Challenge. Instacart is sharing their predictions on what will be filling grocery carts across the country in 2017, and we recognize some familiar faces on this list. Move over, turmeric ice cream - there’s a new trend in town! #greatjobeverybody

Instacart leaned on their customers when figuring out the big grocery trends of 2017 based on their most-searched items on the website. Dairy alternatives were huge in 2016, and next year is going to be even bigger for plant-based and nut-based products from brands like COYO and Kite Hill. Gluten-free is steering away from pre-made products and going straight into the hands of consumers. Instead of buying those gluten-free cookies, why not make them yourself with Simple Mills baking mixes?

Are you looking to stay ahead of the game in 2017 and amp up your grocery haul? Read more on next year's predictions from Instacart here.
