Job Description

As the Accounting Coordinator, you will be an essential contributor to fulfilling the mission of 34 Degrees.  This is a newly created role that is responsible for general financial and operational administration, and bookkeeping activities.  This position is ideally suited for the candidate who thrives in a start-up culture, is a team player, and a highly motivated self-starter.  

Duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Accurately process customer payments, enter deposits into accounting software, and perform collections communication to customers.

  2. Accurately record and report trade activity, research and seek approval of all deductions, and reconcile against account promotional plans.

  3. Engage collaboratively with teammates and customers to resolve disputes, claims and deductions issues in a timely manner, while minimizing the financial loss to the company.

  4. Enter bills, process check runs with approval the from Director of Finance, and send mail as assigned.

  5. Process expense reimbursement to company employees according to company policy.

  6. Process customer sales orders and upload to manufacturing partner portal.  Send order confirmations to customers.

  7. Reconcile shipping confirmations.  Prepare and send customer invoices.

  8. In compliance with accrual accounting, complete all bank reconciliations, process work papers, enter journal entries, and prepare financial statements for review.

  9. Process broker commissions.

  10. Maintain accurate records and immediately inform management of discrepancies or problems.

  11. Maintain all related operations and accounting records and file in an orderly manner.

  12. Perform all data entry to generate and review related reports and routine financial statements.

  13. Interact with all team members regarding financial issues.

  14. Support all internal departments.

  15. Complete other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other related Business field; required

  • Prior accounting, bookkeeping, or deductions experience in the consumer goods or grocery/food industry; required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs; including advanced Excel skills

  • Proficient in Quickbooks

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Organized with high attention to detail and sense of urgency

  • Can effectively prioritize, meet deadlines, multitask, and self-manage

  • Uses reason to solve problems

  • Patient and careful with cyclical tasks

  • Flexible, accurate, service-oriented

  • Exhibits a strong work ethic and high level of integrity

  • Keeps highly sensitive information confidential

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area

  • Desires challenge and seeks continuous improvement through learning
